About DPIIT

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) was established in 1995 and later reconstituted in 2000. Initially known as the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion, it was renamed DPIIT in January 2019. The Department focuses on fostering industry, internal trade, and related policies in India.

About the Internship

DPIIT has launched an internship scheme for undergraduate, postgraduate, and research scholars to provide exposure to the working culture of the Government of India and its various schemes.

The internship is open throughout the year, allowing applicants to select their internship period: one month, two months, or three months as per their convenience.

Eligibility

The internship is open to students pursuing Undergraduate, Postgraduate, or Research degrees in the following domains:

• Engineering
• Management
• Law
• Economics
• Finance
• Computer Science
• Library Management

Note: Candidates from other domains may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.

₹10,000 per month (subject to satisfactory completion of the internship)

• 1 month
• 2 months
• 3 months

As per their preference and availability during the internship cycle.

How to Apply

The application process is online. All interested candidates must apply through the official DPIIT portal.

Selection Process:

• Applications will be reviewed and compiled by the Establishment Division.
• Sections/divisions will then specify their intern requirements.
• Based on the discipline, selected candidates will be contacted with internship offers.
• A certificate of completion will be issued upon the satisfactory completion of the internship.
