About the Opportunity
The DPIIT Chair on IPR at NLSIU is inviting applications for 2 full-time Research Assistant positions based in Bengaluru. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates interested in intellectual property research, policy, and interdisciplinary work at a premier law university.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct literature reviews and develop research plans
- Analyse cancers relevant to India, treatment options, and accessibility/affordability
- Map patent landscapes of drugs relevant to India
- Organise workshops, consultations, and prepare case studies
- Conduct interviews and surveys
- Prepare research outputs including reports and publications
- Assist in ongoing research and dissemination activities
- Publish at least two short-form research pieces annually
Eligibility Criteria
- For one position: Graduate degree in biomedical sciences or MBBS
- For second position: Graduate degree in law
- Preference for candidates with MSc/LLM in relevant fields
- Experience or specialisation in patent law or patent search (desirable)
- Prior academic, research, or industry experience in IP (desirable)
Skills Required
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Interest in intellectual property and empirical research
- Ability to conduct fieldwork and data analysis
- Good academic writing and publication skills
- Proactive and detail-oriented approach
