The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is the nodal ministry of the Government of India responsible for developing and deploying new and renewable energy for supplementing the country’s energy requirements. It plays a key role in policy-making, implementation, and promotion of clean energy initiatives.
About the Opportunity
MNRE is inviting applications for its internship programme, offering students and professionals a chance to gain practical exposure in the renewable energy sector. Interns will work closely with senior officials and contribute to policy, research, and implementation-related work.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Work under senior officers across various programme divisions
- Assist in research, policy analysis, and implementation tasks
- Contribute to ongoing projects in renewable energy
- Prepare and submit a final report/paper
- Deliver presentations/seminars if required by the HRD Division
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must fall under one of the following categories:
- Students pursuing graduate/postgraduate degrees in:
- Engineering
- Management
- Law
- Science
- Renewable Energy
- Must be enrolled in a recognized university/institution (in India or abroad)
- Professionals working in the renewable energy sector (including NGOs, national/international organizations) can also apply
Mode of Internship
- On-site (Physical Internship)
Stipend
- ₹15,000 per month (for physical internships only)
- No stipend for virtual internships
No. of Positions
- Up to 20 interns per year
Duration
- 2 to 6 months
- Conducted twice a year based on MNRE requirements
- Internship cannot be extended or repeated
