About SEBI

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is the regulatory authority for India’s securities market. Initially constituted as a non-statutory body on April 12, 1988, SEBI became a statutory body under the SEBI Act, 1992.

Its core mandate is to protect investor interests, promote market development, and regulate the securities market.

SEBI offers legal internships at its Head Office in Mumbai for students passionate about securities law and financial regulation. Interns work on real-time legal research and gain firsthand exposure to regulatory frameworks.

Internship Details

  • Location: SEBI Head Office, Mumbai
  • Mode: Offline (In-person at HO)
  • Duration: Minimum 4 weeks
  • Eligibility: Law students (3rd year onwards of 5-year course / Final year of 3-year course)
  • Application Mode: Online only through official SEBI portal
  • Cover Letter: Mandatory (Prescribed format)
  • Selection Intimation: Via email only

Important Instructions

  • Apply between: 1st to 7th of each month
  • For internships in: The following month only
    (e.g., Apply 1–7 July for August internship)
  • No other mode of application accepted
  • No queries will be entertained post-application
