About the Chair on Consumer Research and Policy (CCRP)

Established in October 2024 under the aegis of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, the Chair on Consumer Research and Policy functions as a dedicated think tank on consumer law. It promotes legal research, policy development, and academic engagement in the domain of consumer affairs, including curriculum development at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Internship at CCRP, NUSRL

The internship is designed to provide law students with an immersive experience in consumer protection laws, regulatory research, and legal policy drafting. It is offered monthly on a rolling basis, with a limited intake of 5 students per month, combining both offline and online formats.

Internship Structure

Duration: Minimum of 30 working days

Slots per Month: 5 interns

Format: Full-time (9:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.)

Stipend: Unpaid Internship

Interns will undergo a short induction program followed by research and report-writing assignments. Submission of four original pieces on consumer law and a final presentation are mandatory for internship completion.

Eligibility Criteria

• Law students from recognized institutions.
• 2nd or 3rd-year students (3-year LL.B.),
  or 2nd year onwards (5-year integrated LL.B.).
• LL.M. students are also eligible.

Required Skills & Interests

• Strong interest in consumer laws
• Legal research skills (Manupatra, SCC Online, etc.)
• Good writing and analytical abilities
• Ethical conduct and professionalism

Selection & Application Process

Applications are accepted via email only. Interested candidates must:

Submit a 1,000-word write-up on Consumer Protection Laws.

1. Email their application to ccrp@nusrlranchi.ac.in.

Mention the preferred internship month in advance.

1. Upon selection, submit:
   • A recommendation letter from their institution (Annexure A)
   • A signed undertaking (Annexure B)

Note: Incomplete or late applications will not be entertained.

Completion & Certification

Certificates will be awarded only upon:

• Full attendance
• Timely submission of all assignments
• Satisfactory conduct and performance
