Research Internship Opportunity at PRS Legislative Research [August 2025]: Apply by June 20

PRS Legislative Research is inviting applications for its Research Internship Programme scheduled for August 2025. This internship offers an opportunity to engage with legislative processes and contribute to research supporting Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of Legislative Assemblies (MLAs).

About PRS Legislative Research

PRS Legislative Research is an independent, not-for-profit organization established in 2005. It aims to strengthen India's democracy by making the legislative process better informed, more transparent, and participatory. PRS provides research support to MPs and MLAs, tracks the functioning of legislatures, and engages with citizens to enhance their understanding and participation in the legislative process.

Internship Structure

The internship varies depending on whether Parliament is in session:

• During Parliament Sessions: Interns assist analysts on projects aligned with current legislative activities.
• During Non-Session Periods: Interns' interests are considered, and they are matched with relevant analysts for specific projects.

All interns are required to undertake and complete a research project as part of their internship experience.

Duration

The internship typically lasts between 4 to 8 weeks, offering some flexibility.

Mode

The internship is offline (in-person), requiring interns to report to the PRS office in New Delhi.

Stipend

Please note that this is an unpaid internship. No stipend or accommodation will be provided.

Intern Expectations

Interns should possess:

1. A keen interest in the legislative process and Indian Parliament.
2. Strong writing and analytical skills.

Application Procedure

Interested candidates can apply by:

1. Writing a short statement of purpose (not more than 500 words).
2. Uploading an up-to-date resume in PDF format.
3. Uploading a writing sample on any policy issue (not more than 1000 words) in PDF format.
