About the Internship

The MoWCD Internship Programme offers a hands-on learning opportunity for selected candidates to engage in pilot projects, micro-studies, and policy analyses aligned with the Ministry’s ongoing initiatives. It is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the government’s interventions in the areas of gender justice, child rights, and social welfare, empowering them to advocate for women and children's issues on broader platforms.

Eligibility Criteria

The Ministry invites applications from:

• Women students, scholars, teachers, and social activists
• Associated with or enrolled in any academic or non-academic institution
• Residents of non-Tier I cities or rural parts of India
• Aged between 21 to 40 years

Stipend and Benefits

Selected interns will receive a stipend of ₹20,000 per month. Additional benefits include:

• Reimbursement of travel expenses (by Deluxe Bus / AC 3 Tier train)
• Hostel accommodation on a sharing basis in Delhi for the duration of the internship

Duration and Internship Batches

The internship spans two months per term, with four batches each financial year:

• May–June
• August–September
• November–December
• February–March

The Ministry selects up to 20 interns per batch, ensuring a focused and enriching experience for each participant.

Application Timeline

Candidates can apply two months prior to the desired batch, within the window of 1st to 10th of the relevant month.

For the August–September 2025 batch, applications must be submitted between June 1 and June 10, 2025.
