The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) invites applications from law students across India for its Internship Programme 2025, scheduled for July 2025. This initiative aims to provide aspiring legal professionals with firsthand experience in the functioning of NALSA, promoting access to justice and understanding of legal services mechanisms.


About NALSA

Established under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, NALSA's primary objective is to provide free legal services to the weaker sections of society and to organize Lok Adalats for amicable settlement of disputes. It plays a pivotal role in ensuring justice is accessible to all, irrespective of economic or other disabilities.

About the Internship

The internship programme is designed to acquaint law students with the workings of NALSA. Interns will engage in various activities, including legal research, drafting, and assisting in the organization of legal awareness programs. This hands-on experience will enhance their understanding of legal aid mechanisms and the role of legal services authorities in the justice delivery system.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Students pursuing a degree in law from a recognized institution.
  2. Demonstrated interest in legal aid, public service, and access to justice initiatives.

Duration

The internship will commence in July 2025. The exact duration will be specified upon selection.

Submission of Report

Interns are required to submit a comprehensive report at the end of their internship, detailing their experiences, learnings, and contributions during the programme.

Certificate of Internship

Upon successful completion of the internship and submission of the requisite report, interns will be awarded a certificate by NALSA, acknowledging their participation and contributions.

Internship Guidelines

Selected interns are expected to adhere to the guidelines and code of conduct as prescribed by NALSA. This includes maintaining confidentiality, punctuality, and active participation in assigned tasks.
