The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has been constituted under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 to provide free Legal Services to the weaker sections of the Society and to organise Lok Adalats for amicable settlement of disputes.
About the Internship
NALSA offers an internship programme for law students across the country. This programme aims to acquaint young law students with the workings of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) by providing hands-on experience in various specialised areas of legal services, thereby promoting access to justice.
Interns will be awarded with a Certificate of Internship only on the successful completion of the Internship to the satisfaction of the Member Secretary, NALSA.
Note:
• The internship certificate will be awarded subject to meeting the criteria of 90% attendance during the internship.
• No letter of recommendation shall be provided by this Authority.
Internship Guidelines
- Location: New Delhi
- Mode: onsite
- Duration: 4 weeks
- Timings: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, 6 days a week 6 days a week from Monday to Saturday (Second and fourth Saturdays of each month are holidays).
- Stipend: no stipend
- Dress Code: Formal Black & White as prescribed by the Bar Council of Delhi
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a law student pursuing a 3-year LL.B. or 5-year integrated law course from a recognised university.
- Preference is given to 2nd/3rd year (3-year course) or 4th/5th year (5-year course) students
How to Apply
1. Prepare necessary documents like CV, Expression of interest (one page or less, explaining your interest and suitability) and NOC from any appropriate authority.
2. The online application form is available on the NALSA website (https://nalsa.gov.in.) for two months before the month preceding your desired internship month. Example: For a March internship, apply between December 1 and January 3.
3. Fill out the application form online only via the NALSA website.
4. Upload all required documents before the deadline.
5. Only online applications are accepted; no other mode will be considered.
6. Selection is merit-based and subject to the final decision of the Competent Authority.
7. No requests through other means will be entertained.
8. Maintain at least 90% attendance for the certificate
Note: No stipend, accommodation, or TA/DA is provided. Interns must arrange their own stay and follow the prescribed dress code.
