About The Job
Google’s Legal Department is tackling modern legal challenges with innovative solutions. As a Legal Assistant, you play a key role in supporting the team by managing records, improving processes, conducting legal research, and coordinating communications. You’ll work with different groups within the Legal Department, Google’s internal clients, and external parties. The role focuses on corporate secretarial, compliance, and governance matters for Google subsidiaries in the Asia-Pacific region. It involves handling legal and administrative tasks, responding to information requests, and ensuring smooth coordination. Overall, the position is essential in helping the Legal team navigate 21st-century legal issues at the intersection of law and technology, enabling Google to build products responsibly and compliantly.
Responsibilities
- Manage and organize information and documentation, draft, review, and manage legal documentation, conduct legal reviews, due diligence, and investigations, advise clients on risks, and support other areas of Legal Operations.
- Work with cross-functional internal clients, stakeholders, and external parties to oversee transactional and corporate matters, managing transactional and corporate closing mechanics, post closing integrations, administrations, reorganizations, and corporate governance and compliance matters.
- Conduct fact-finding investigations and diligence to gather information, documents, and data in response to discovery, regulatory agency, and other third-parties requests and diligence matters, and process and manage legal matters involving some degree of risk and complexity for internal clients and external parties (e.g., compliance and governance, mergers and acquisitions, complaints, information requests, etc.).
- Develop and implement metrics to evaluate effectiveness of services, policies, and procedures, and review/ analyze data and make recommendations.

Eligibility
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of legal work experience in a law firm, government, or in house legal department.
- Ability to multi-task on deadlines to support all administrative aspects of the team’s work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with an ability to review and organize documents in legal matters.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
