The National Green Tribunal (NGT) is a specialized statutory body in India established under the National Green Tribunal Act, 2010. It is dedicated to the effective and expeditious disposal of cases relating to environmental protection, conservation of forests, and other natural resources.
About the Job
The NGT is inviting applications for the position of Legal Researcher at its Principal Bench, New Delhi. This is a contractual appointment where the selected candidates will provide research assistance and legal support in matters pertaining to environmental jurisprudence.
Eligibility
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.).
- Preferred: Candidates with a Postgraduate degree in Law (LL.M.) or prior experience in legal research/studies.
- Core Knowledge: Proficiency in Environmental Laws, Legal Research methodologies, and Court Procedures.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Strong analytical and drafting skills.
- Ability to interpret complex environmental statutes and precedents.
- Familiarity with the functioning of quasi-judicial bodies.
Remuneration
Remuneration will be determined by the Competent Authority. The final offer will depend on the candidate’s:
- Academic merit and technical expertise.
- Relevant professional experience.
- Last salary drawn (if applicable).
