About the Internship Opportunity
The Legal Internship Scheme is designed to provide law students and recent graduates with practical exposure to the Ministry's legal and policy work. Interns are expected to assist in drafting rules, researching regulatory reforms, and preparing briefs for court cases and committee meetings.
Eligibility Criteria
The Ministry maintains strict academic requirements:
- LLB Students: Must have completed/appeared in 2nd-year exams with at least 80% in Class 12.
- LLM/PhD Students: Must have completed/appeared in 1st-year/2nd-semester with 70% in their preceding degree.
- Recent Graduates: Eligible within 6 months of graduation with at least 70% aggregate marks.
- Skills: Exceptional command over English and legal drafting is a prerequisite.
Internship Details
- Duration: Minimum 6 weeks; Maximum 6 months.
- Mode: On-site (Physical) at Shram Shakti Bhawan, New Delhi.
- Stipend: ₹5,000 per month (subject to successful completion and submission of a final report).
- Selection: Based on academic merit and the quality of the Statement of Purpose.
