About the Job

Mastercard is seeking a Counsel to join its Global Business Solutions Center (GBSC) Legal Servicesteam. This role is highly operational, focusing on end-to-end contract management and providing efficient legal solutions across diverse global markets. The Counsel will be instrumental in supporting the company's business operations by ensuring high-quality, timely legal support that aligns with international service standards.

Responsibilities

• Contract Management: Manage the entire contract lifecycle, from initial request through to execution.
• Drafting & Negotiation: Review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including:
  • Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
  • Software License and Service Agreements
  • Consulting and Vendor Agreements
• Compliance & Risk: Ensure all contracts adhere to internal policies, global laws, and regulatory requirements while identifying and mitigating legal risks.
• Security & Integrity: Maintain the highest standards of information confidentiality, report security concerns, and complete mandatory security training in line with Mastercard’s global policies.

Eligibility

• Education: LL.B. graduate from a recognized institution.
• Experience: Proven experience in contract negotiation and managing complex commercial agreements.
• Core Skills:
  • Strong legal and business acumen with excellent analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in navigating international legal systems (including US, EU, Middle East, and APAC).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and escalate critical issues appropriately.

Location

Global Business Solutions Center (Typically Pune/Gurugram for India-based GBSC roles, as per Mastercard's standard operations).
