About the Job

The firm is seeking an Associate for its Privacy & Data Protection practice based in Bengaluru. This role is centered on providing strategic advice on data protection laws and compliance structures. The successful candidate will navigate the rapidly evolving regulatory environment, ensuring clients remain compliant with both domestic and international privacy standards.

Eligibility

Education: LL.B. or LL.M. from a recognized institution.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of Post Qualification Experience (PQE) within a reputable law firm or MNC.
Core Competencies: * Proven experience in data privacy laws.
- In-depth understanding of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Rules, 2025.
- Familiarity with global frameworks like GDPR.
- Expertise in cross-border data transfers, consent mechanisms, and privacy-by-design.
Bonus: Privacy or Data Protection certifications are considered an added advantage.

Responsibilities

Advisory & Compliance: Counsel clients on privacy frameworks, conducting audits and gap assessments.
Drafting: Prepare and review privacy policies, Data Protection Agreements (DPAs), and related legal contracts.
Incident Management: Assist in data breach assessments and incident response protocols.
Knowledge Leadership: Conduct research on emerging tech laws and develop thought leadership content and client alerts.
