Job Opportunity: Litigation Associate At Chambers of Shaurya Sahay (Advocate-on-Record, Supreme Court of India)
About the Chambers:
The Chambers of Shaurya Sahay is a dynamic litigation practice focusing on high stakes matters before the Supreme Court of India, particularly in representation of government clients including the State of Uttar Pradesh and other Public Sector Undertakings. The work involves exposure to government litigation, Supreme Court advocacy, and occasional arbitration and commercial disputes.
This is an exceptional opportunity for young lawyers to gain front-line courtroom experience and handle a diverse and high-volume case roster.
Role & Responsibilities:
The selected associate will work closely with the senior counsel and be involved in:
- Supreme Court Practice: Supporting government representations before the Supreme Court.
- Government Liaison: Coordinating with departments for legal opinions and seamless case handling.
- Case Management: Managing complex civil and criminal litigation matters.
- Diverse Practice Areas: Including land acquisition, service law, election law, constitutional law, stamp & registration.
- Drafting & Research: Drafting of petitions, affidavits, appeals, legal opinions, and conducting in-depth legal research.
- Clerical & Admin Work: Includes important backend tasks essential for litigation support.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Law graduates from the 2024 or 2025 batch, or
- Lawyers with up to 1 year of PQE
- Prior litigation internships or chamber experience is preferred.
Skills Required:
- Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage deadlines in a high-pressure litigation environment
- Demonstrated interest in criminal, constitutional, and civil law
Terms of Engagement:
- Probation Period: 3-month paid probation
- Confirmation based on performance during probation
- Possible extension in exceptional circumstances
