About the Opportunity
EY is seeking a Regulatory Research & Monitoring Attorney at the Staff level to join their dynamic legal team. This role provides exposure to diverse compliance projects and the regulatory landscape across various countries and areas of law.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand the underlying issues of assigned projects and follow a detailed research process to present findings in the required format.
- Interpret statutes, regulations, and case law accurately.
- Use proper legal writing and formatting techniques as per guidelines.
- Deliver client assignments on time consistently (OTD).
- Attend mandatory training and certification programs.
- Collaborate effectively as a team player and escalate project issues timely.
- Organize and manage responsibilities efficiently.
- Regularly report assignment statuses to seniors.
- Actively participate in team, department, and company meetings and professional development initiatives.
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Degree in Law with 2 to 4 years of relevant experience.
- Professional proficiency in English, including writing, grammar, punctuation, and style.
- Strong legal research, writing, and organizational skills.
- Ability to identify, interpret, and summarize statutes and regulations pertinent to legal issues.
- Excellent analytical, logical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Understanding and adherence to legal research methodologies.
Additional Preferred Skills
- Working knowledge of legal databases (e.g., Westlaw).
- Basic proficiency in MS Excel and Word.
- Passion for learning, innovation, and effective communication of findings.
- Ability to collaborate, multitask, and share insights proactively within the team.
- Adaptability and diligence in a dynamic legal environment.
