NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad has invited Expressions of Interest for the position of IPR Chair Professor on a full-time contractual basis. The Chair has been established under the SPRIHA initiative of DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, and focuses on advancing teaching, research, and policy engagement in Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).

Position Overview

- Chair: Intellectual Property Rights Chair (DPIIT–SPRIHA)

Role & Expectations
- Teaching and curriculum development in IP-related subjects
- Research on IP laws, policy, and global best practices
- Publishing academic and policy-oriented work on public platforms
- Building collaborations with universities, industry, startups, and innovators
- Strengthening engagement between academia and IP stakeholders
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must fall under any one of the following categories:
- Academicians eligible to hold the post of Professor or Associate Professor as per UGC norms, with substantial teaching and research experience in IPR
- IP practitioners with a minimum of 10 years of experience in IPR practice
- Other professionals with national or international recognition in the IPR field and at least 10 years of relevant experience
- Retired officials from the IP Office (CGPDTM) holding a PhD, with at least 5 years’ experience at Level 12 or above (e.g., Controller of Patents & Designs, Registrar of Trademarks, GI, or Copyrights)
Age & Tenure
- Maximum age limit: 70 years
- Initial tenure: 1 year (contractual)
- Extendable up to 5 years based on performance
Remuneration
- Consolidated salary of ₹1,50,000 per month
- 3% annual increment after completion of each year
