Eligibility Criteria:

The internship is open to Indian nationals who meet specific educational qualifications. Applicants must be pursuing courses in recognized institutions or universities with exposure to competition law. However, students with job placements in hand are not eligible.

Educational Qualifications:

Students pursuing the following courses can apply:

  1. Economics and Management:
    • MA/MSc (Economics)
    • Fourth and final-year students of 5-year integrated degree programs in Economics
    • MBA
  2. Law:
    • Second and third-year students of a 3-year law course after graduation
    • Fourth and final-year students of a 5-year integrated law course
    • LLM
  3. Regulatory Governance:
    • MA/MSc (Regulatory Governance)
  4. Professional Courses:
    • Final group students of Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy, or Company Secretary programs.

Internship Scheme:

The internship typically lasts for one month, starting on the first working day of the month. However, applicants can request internships for 2-3 months with recommendations from their institutions.

Key Features:

  • Interns will undergo an induction program on the provisions of the Competition Act, 2002.
  • They will be assigned to various divisions within CCI under the guidance of officers.
  • At the end of the internship, interns must present their work; failing this will result in no certificate or stipend being issued.
  • Interns are required to maintain discipline, punctuality, and integrity throughout their tenure.

Honorarium:

Interns will receive an honorarium of ₹15,000 per month during their internship.

Application Process:

Interested students must apply using the prescribed application format available on CCI's official website (www.cci.gov.in). Applications submitted in any other format will not be entertained.

Steps to Apply:

  1. Fill out the application form with accurate details. The prescribed format is given in Annexure.
  2. Include a recommendation from your institution's competent authority.
  3. Submit a Statement of Purpose (200 words) explaining your topic and study objectives.
  4. Applications must be submitted online by the 1st day of the preceding month for which you intend to intern.
