About Competition Commission of India (CCI)

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) is a statutory body established under the Competition Act, 2002. Its primary mandate is to prevent practices having an appreciable adverse effect on competition, promote and sustain competition in markets, protect the interests of consumers, and ensure freedom of trade in India.

About the Opportunity

The CCI offers a prestigious monthly internship program designed to provide students with practical experience in competition law and economics. Interns work under the guidance of mentors on case studies, research projects, and regulatory analysis.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be Indian Nationals from recognized institutions with an interest in Competition Law:

  • 5-Year LL.B.: Students in their 4th or 5th year (or those entering the 4th year).
  • 3-Year LL.B.: Students in their 2nd or 3rd year.
  • Post-Graduation: Students currently pursuing an LL.M.
  • Note: Students who already have a job placement in hand are not eligible to apply.

Application Requirements

  3. Statement of Purpose (SoP): A 200-word write-up covering your proposed topic and objectives of study.

Important Deadlines

CCI follows a rolling application process. Applications must reach the CCI by the 1st day of the preceding month.

Example: To apply for the May 2026 batch, your application must reach by April 1, 2026.
