About the Internship
The AfDB Internship Programme is a key component of the Bank’s Talent Management Framework. It is designed to provide students with professional experience in a global developmental context while creating a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment. While the program offers high-level practical exposure, it is a learning experience and does not guarantee immediate employment.

Duration and Timeline
Internships range from a minimum of 3 months to a maximum of 6 months. The upcoming session (Session 2 of 2026) is scheduled to commence in July 2026. Please note that candidates may undertake this internship only once.
Mode
The program offers a Hybrid model. Depending on departmental requirements, interns may be stationed on-site in Abidjan or work remotely.
Remote interns are responsible for ensuring they have a personal computer, reliable internet, and a suitable working environment.
Eligibility
- Age: Must be 30 years old or younger at the start of the internship.
- Education: Currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program or have graduated within the last year. Proof of enrollment or degree completion is mandatory.
- Nationality: Must be a national of a member country (including India).
- Languages: Proficiency in either English or French.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required; knowledge of SAP is an advantage.

Stipend & Benefits
Selected participants receive a monthly stipend and medical insurance coverage for the duration of the internship. For on-site interns, the Bank provides support with visa arrangements, though interns must cover their own travel, accommodation, and living expenses in Abidjan.
