It operates within the framework of the Recovery of Debts Due to Banks and Financial Institutions Act (RDDBFI), 1993 and the Securitization and Reconstruction of Financial Assets and Enforcement of Security Interests Act (SARFAESI), 2002. The internship program allows participants to delve into these areas while gaining practical experience in tribunal proceedings and legal research.
Internship Details
BankDRT offers internships at its Delhi and Bangalore offices, as well as online internships. The program includes short-term, medium-term, and long-term internships tailored to the needs of law students and graduates.
They accommodate a maximum of eight interns at any given time (Four at Bangalore and 4 at Delhi), in order to provide proper care and guidance to each intern.
Duration
- Short-term Internship: 30 days
- Medium-term Internship: 90 days
- Long-term Internship: 180 days
Eligibility
- Short-term Internship:
- Open to students in their 9th or 10th semester (5-year law course).
- In some cases, students in their 7th or 8th semester are also eligible.
- Medium-term and Long-term Internship:
- Open to law graduates who are registered with any Bar Council.
Key Features of the Internship
- Practical Exposure:
- Interns will work on live case files related to banking law, debt restructuring, and non-performing assets.
- Research projects based on individual interests will be assigned.
- Court Visits:
- Interns will visit courts and tribunals to observe proceedings and gain firsthand experience in legal forums.
- Reporting Requirements:
- Daily log reports, weekly summaries, project reports, and oral presentations are mandatory.
- Presentations may involve video conferencing between Delhi and Bangalore offices.
- Training Environment:
- BankDRT operates as a paperless office with a Wi-Fi-enabled workspace.
- Interns must be computer-savvy and adhere to office timings:
- Monday–Friday: 10 AM–6 PM
- Saturday: 10 AM–2 PM
- Dress Code:
- Court formal attire is required on workdays.
- Casuals are permitted on Saturdays.
