About Bihar State Legal Services Authority
In accordance with Article 39-A of the Constitution of India, the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 was enacted and came into effect on November 9, 1995. The Bihar State Legal Services Authority (BSLSA) is a statutory body established under this Act. The primary objective of the National, State, and District Legal Services Authorities is to ensure free and competent legal aid to underprivileged sections of society, facilitate the functioning of Lok Adalats, and promote legal awareness.
Benefits
Interns will gain exposure to the practical functioning of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) methods, including mediation, conciliation, and Lok Adalats. Participants will also explore essential legal concepts such as National Lok Adalat, mediation procedures, compounding of offences, and plea bargaining.
The internship may include field visits to institutions like District Legal Services Authorities, jails, and Gram Kacheheris to observe the practical implementation of legal aid and dispute resolution mechanisms.

Duration
The internship will be conducted from June 4 to June 24. A certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the 21-day program.
